10 Signs you are an Introvert
Maybe you think that being an introvert is a bad thing? That’s because most people just think it means to be shy and awkward. However, this is not what it means to be introverted.
Introverts get their energy from spending time alone in their thoughts. Extroverts on the other hand are energised by spending time around people.
Sign 1 – You prefer to hang out with just one person at a time. Is it normal for you to hang out alone or with your friends?
Sign 2 – You prefer solo hobbies. These are things you can do by yourself where you don’t need to have conversations every time.
Sign 3 – You don’t like small talk. You find talking about polite, everyday things to be draining. Unless you can talk about a subject you’re interested in, you’d rather not say anything.
Sign 4 – You feel really uncomfortable to be around loud people. It makes you feel tired and sometimes annoyed.
Sign 5 – You don’t like attention on your birthday and the idea of a surprise party really scares you.
Sign 6 – When you attend a meeting you never want to ask a question at the end of the meeting. It’s like you don’t want to keep everyone waiting. You prefer to ask after the meeting when you don’t have an audience.
Sign 7 – You love the written word and the fact you can say exactly what you mean when you write it down.
Sign 8 – Your job. Do you work alone? If you find that you are productive working alone then you are an introvert. If you get bored working alone then you are an extrovert.
Sign 9 – In a social situation you almost never put your foot in it. This is because you are quite good at reading people and you’re quite sensitive to doing and saying the right thing.
Sign 10 – You don’t tell everyone your whole life story. You don’t trust everyone with your private information.
There are more extroverts than introverts in the world and it seems to me that the world favours and rewards the personality of extroverts. However, being an introvert gives you access to a rich inner life where you can work to develop yourself. Be proud to be an introvert.
